Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my latest trip at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .

The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and neglected washrooms suffused the entire pub. With a smell of a mixture of human waste, decay and sour vomit . The counter , which should be the focal point of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even a more revolting state — spilling over , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
